Job description
HSB is looking for an experienced transactional attorney to join our growing legal team as Senior Counsel. This position will be responsible for structuring, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements related to strategic transactions for HSB Group’s global companies, primarily in support of our IoT, IIoT, EaaS, and other technology-related businesses including relayr. This role will regularly collaborate with international teams on complex deals involving emerging business models, including unique offerings that bundle technology, insurance, engineering, and financial services and products. Transaction types vary and include strategic partnerships, master purchase/services arrangements, distribution and reseller agreements, software- and equipment-as-a-service transactions, joint development efforts, M&A deals, NDAs, term sheets, and related documents.
Qualifications
- JD Degree
- 8+ years of law firm or in-house legal experience with a focus on transactions
- Deep subject matter expertise in commercial transactions, preferably gained through a broad range of complex transaction types
- A creative and curious mindset
- Ability to translate fresh or evolving ideas into new contract templates or language
- Skilled in leading teams through negotiations with strong knowledge of negotiation concepts
- Passionate about providing business savvy, strategic legal advice
- Self-starter that can project manage and prioritize workflow independently
- Strong experience with IP, data protection, or as-a-Service is a plus
- Admission to Connecticut Bar preferred or Authorized In-house Counsel
