SUMMARY:
A Senior Data Analyst, or Senior Data Business Analyst, is responsible for using their knowledge of data processing software and business development strategies to provide sound business decisions to company Executives. Their duties include collaborating with other data professionals to extract data figures, creating reports based on their findings, and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to determine business initiatives' success. Senior data analysts are also responsible for providing high level advanced triage support to stakeholders, business partners, and product teams in managing specific issue resolution activities. The Senior Data Analyst position also entails providing leadership to Junior Analysts and collaboration with leadership to develop and implement solutions to business problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide innovative analytical insights within the Data Analytics Program.
  • Conduct detailed data analysis on data used across business units to evaluate business processes and improve on/create new feature.
  • Respond to data and product related inquiries in real-time to support business and technical teams.
  • Perform various data analytics in SQL and MS Excel using statistical models or industry accepted tools.
  • Provide relational database expertise to construct and execute SQL queries to be used in data analysis activities.
  • Provide data solutions, tools, and capabilities to enable self-service frameworks for data consumers.
  • Provide expertise and translate the business needs to design; and develop tools, techniques, and metrics, and dashboards for insights and data visualization.
  • Responsible for developing and executing tools to monitor and report on data quality.
  • Responsible for establishing appreciation and adherence to the principles of data quality management, including metadata, lineage, and business definitions.
  • Provide support to Tech teams in managing security mechanisms and data access governance.
  • Develop and demonstrate subject matter expertise pertaining to all aspects and components of Business Intelligence to include but not limited to, Data Governance, Data Architecture, Data Quality, and Data Lifecycle.
  • Performs data analytics and report creation utilizing Microsoft Access and/or Excel and Business Objects, Crystal Reports, or Microsoft Power BI, or other Database management tools for extracting and preparing reports.
  • First level System Administration, Database Management, Project Management, Programming, Technology Platform Implementation.
  • Troubleshooting, coordinating, or resolving Technology Services Department Ticket Requests.
  • Participates fully in Technology Access and Administration; including enforcement of the credit union's Information Protection Policy and ensuring platform access is restricted appropriately in a timely manner. Develop and maintain adequate processes and procedures for accomplishing this tasking.
  • Collaborate with team members to collect, analyze, and report data insights.
  • Prepares and maintains daily, weekly, monthly reports and data visualization dashboards.
  • Performs other such functions as assigned by Executive Management as it relates to lending technology platform/systems, reporting, and productivity.
  • Establishes and monitors priorities, objectives, and procedures. Continuously develops data dictionaries, data workflows, and processes to ensure data quality and governance standards.
  • Understand and interact with complex data sets to compile accurate and timely reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university and/or appropriate certifications, or a combination of accredited educational and work experience in a similar, technological environment. Demonstrated experience and knowledge in performing the outlined duties and essential responsibilities listed in this job description.
