Job Title: Senior Design Engineer (Charging Systems)
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Chillicothe, IL
Job Description:
- Responsible for designing and developing power conversion components/systems and sub-components that meet requirements for performance, durability, quality, cost, and manufacturability.
- Develop designs in Creo and release new designs
- Support the component/system level DFMEAs
- Integrate mechanical designs with low and high voltage electrical systems
- Collaborate with cross function team to meet product requirements
- Work with supplier, SDE and buyer on new part designs or revisions to existing designs
- Engage with various manufacturing/operations teams in reviewing design changes and improvement opportunities.
- Continually learn and stay abreast of the latest advances in power conversion technologies and solutions.
- Communicate technical information to team members; and support and advise other engineers and managers.
Typical Day:
- Attending technical review meetings, supporting product requirements definition designing and creating charger electrical schematics & circuitry
- Creating 3D models of charger mechanical systems collaborating with project lead and scope and deliverables for next sprint verifying the validity of designs through test
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Mechanical Engineering curriculum with 8-10 years of relevant engineering work experience
or
- Master’s degree in an accredited Mechanical Engineering curriculum with 6-8 years of relevant engineering work experience
Technical Skills:
- Prior experience with charging systems and power electronics
- Expertise in 3D modeling with Creo or similiar software
- Excellent analytical skills; experience with FEA, simulation and analysis tools
- Experience with FMEA
- Previous product development experience with design or analysis of complex mechanical systems
Soft Skills:
- Ability to work with a high paced team
- Excellent communication skills
- Emphasis on initiative and self-starting tasks
Travel Requirement:
- 0-25% local, potentially Tucson, AZ

What does this Position Do? a. This Design Engineer will utilize Creo to design and develop models for charging systems and power electronic components. They need to have strong Creo or similar software (Solidworks, Inventor, AutoCAD) experience along with a Bachelor’s and 8 – 10 years or Master’s and 6 – 8 years experience. Must have experience with charging systems or power electronics
