As the Redevelopment of the LaGuardia Terminal B project wraps up, we are looking to upgrade the commercial and customer experience, so it matches the spectacular nature of the building. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the LGP Terminal B Project, the Senior Director, Commercial and Guest Experience will be responsible for planning, coordinating and directing the guest experience and commercial activity of LaGuardia’s Terminal B to transform the guest experience and challenge what people expect at an airport. The role will ensure that the various groups including customer experience and commercial are working collaboratively to achieve performance objectives in keeping with airport best practices and working pro-actively to identify and mitigate commercial risks. The role will liaise with other LGP functions to optimize the entire terminal experience.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement dynamic and innovative guest services programs including digital and physical interfaces to create a world-class guest journey
- Continues to evolve the use of technology for to enhance the guest experience, including e-commerce and touchless
- Act as a collaborative liaison to the concessionaires, and community stakeholders, to bring the concession program to life – from concepts, to designs, training and on-time opening as appropriate
- Evolve and apply Vantage’s best-in-class concession management techniques and programs to monitor and improve performance of the concession program to maximize revenue opportunities and enhance the guest experience at the airport
- Foster a performance driven culture with respect to commercial operations; introduce and monitor commercial performance by establishing and using suitable Key Performance Indicators benchmarked against other airports, terminals & comparable off-airport facilities
- Develop and implement dynamic concession plans, and promotional programs to achieve maximum performance, drive annual sales growth and increase revenues
- Ensure commercial processes stay within agreed upon budgets and timelines
- Establish, manage and maintain strong relationships with applicable stakeholders, including the New York New Jersey Port Authority, concessionaires, regulatory agencies, airlines, vendors, and the wider airport community to drive financial performance
- Work closely with applicable stakeholders to support the overall management of the sub-tenants.
- Work collaboratively with concession partners and tenants to ensure their operations are compliant with applicable standards, laws and legislation
- Develop performance measurements for key areas of operations; works with functional leads to use performance results to drive a culture of continuous improvement; identifies new technologies that will support excellence
- Provide leadership to managers, including conducting performance reviews, and coaching
- Other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the position may be assigned
Education and qualifications
- At least 10 year’s experience a commercial and marketing senior role, ideally in an aviation or airport setting
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or college in business administration, marketing or a relevant field
- Experience working effectively in a regulated environment
- Excellent written and verbal communications and relationship building skills
- Organization and planning skills crucial for multi-tasking while prioritizing and executing tasks
- Ability to diffuse and manage situations in high pressure situations
- Strong administrative skills, including writing and editing skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Exceptional attention to detail and time management
- Ability to anticipate needs and create solutions to those needs before being asked
- Strong communication and organizational skills for interactions all levels of management and the ability to multitask in a busy work environment
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- A preference for working with an entrepreneurial, fast-paced team
- Demonstrated business acumen coupled with strategic, analytical and creative skills
- An ability to manage multiple projects, without compromising quality
- A passion for learning
