Job description

The candidate shall apply an understanding of DoD, USAF, and common engineering/scientific principles, processes, and procedures to improve performance and sustainability of existing and future USAF and joint service weapon systems. The candidate must have an understanding of applying MIL-HDBK-516C, Airworthiness Certification Criteria, to aircraft systems and subsystems. They will assist in translating user requirements into weapon system requirements, which will be used to design, develop, fabricate, test, and evaluate weapon systems, subsystems, and equipment for eventual fielding and deployment. They will perform technical/mission analyses of existing and future operational requirements, assist in developing system concepts, and perform technological/trade-off assessments of proposed designs/modifications. The candidate shall provide support to produce or review products that include the following: technical evaluations/plans; engineering studies, reports, and analyses; and acquisition strategies/plans. They will support project team meetings, working groups, and all technical reviews upon request and assist the Government in the engineering evaluation of prime and subcontractor recommendations for operational and support issues.

REQUIREMENTS:

• The candidate will have successfully completed an undergraduate or graduate degree with a major in engineering from a college or university with an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited engineering program. Degrees in engineering technology do not qualify for this position.
• The candidate must be able to apply an understanding of DoD, USAF, and common engineering/scientific principles, processes, and procedures to improve performance and sustainability of existing and future USAF and joint service weapon systems.
• The candidate will have an understanding of applying MIL-HDBK-516C, Airworthiness Certification Criteria, to aircraft systems and subsystems.
• S/SAP security clearance
