The Senior Finance Analyst is a key position reporting to the Finance Director in A Box Operations. The Senior Finance Analyst will support the performance management of the manufacturing operations with the assistance of one direct report. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, aspects of: budgeting, forecasting, monthly close, compliance, reporting, performance analysis and special projects as they arise. This position requires the ability to work effectively individually and on teams within a matrix organization while handling multiple priorities across functions and levels throughout the business. This position requires a developing knowledge in accounting, finance, financial control, systems, information analysis and reporting.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist with the preparation and review of the annual budget, periodic forecasts, and operating plans
  • Perform assigned close tasks accurately and timely
  • Prepare assigned journal entries and account reconciliations & substantiations
  • Assist with the assessment of monthly financial performance, including root cause analysis and highlighting performance improvement areas to the operations team
  • Perform profitability assessments on product lines, customers, capital investments, and other business decisions
  • Perform financial modeling and trend & sensitivity analyses
  • Assist in the maintenance and accuracy of standard costing
  • Prepare and coordinate capital expenditure requests as well as participate in long term capital planning
  • Support inventory and other asset control
  • Develop detailed knowledge of accounting systems (Oracle PBCS/Smartview, Insight, Friedman)
  • Maintain financial integrity by following established procedures, policies, and internal controls
  • Maintain professional and technical accounting knowledge through appropriate training and education
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives throughout the operation and participate in Kaizen and Lean events where appropriate
  • Perform other duties and participate in special projects as may be assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or equivalent also to be considered)
  • CPA/CA, CMA and/or MBA a plus
  • Minimum 1-3 years accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Sarbanes Oxley, cost accounting and accounting acumen
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Intermediate or advanced Excel skills
  • Knowledge and experience with ERP and/or MRP systems
