Job Description Summary :
The role
The Senior Learning & Development Manager (L&D Manager) manages all network-wide training throughout the organization and is at the center of instilling a learning culture. The Senior L&D Manager assesses and anticipates training needs within the organization and works with Chief Learning & Talent Development Officer, HR Generalists, Business Unit Leads and Global Leadership to craft the most appropriate and impactful learning platforms that benefit performance and engagement across all agency levels.

What we expect from you
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of annual HR strategic plans, bringing learning/capability development thinking to the fore.
  • Partner with HR Generalists in offering new thinking, approaches and tools to Business Units during their annual Training Planning process.
  • Ensure that cornerstone L&D activities are appropriately installed and adopt a progressive and innovate approach to the way that learning is rolled out across the agency.
  • Oversee the operations & production of all network training activities.
  • Oversee the enrollment process for network-wide and Havas Group training programs to ensure equitable and appropriate enrollment.
  • Utilize and adapt L&D Toolkits (Training Surveys, College Model etc.) according to agency needs. When requested, partner with HR Generalist, Learning Ambassador and agency heads to roll-out.
  • Partner with Global Leadership on network-wide training projects, such as the Strategic Planning Workshop Center and Compliance courses, and act as a consultant on effective global scalability and engagement.
  • In partnership with the Chief Learning & Talent Development Officer, manage the learning budget.
  • Analyze and report back on the effectiveness of training activities.
  • Track and collate accurate data around training participation and other key metrics for quarterly client and annual Company reporting purposes (including CSR, Compliance Training, & coaching engagements).
  • Continued management of network legacy training programs and the continuous development of new programs that supports career progression across all disciplines.
  • Oversee team managing the Company’s Summer Internship Program including:
    • Recruitment and hiring process
    • Scheduling of workshops and lunch and learns
    • Coordinating and assigning of Internship Project
    • Approval of Time Entry
    • Gathering Supervisor feedback on the performance of Interns both during and after the Program
    • Organizing Internship outing and events
    • HR Generalist duties
  • Oversee team managing the Company’s entry-level Fellowship Program including:
    • Recruitment and hiring process
    • Scheduling of lecture series and workshops, and tracking attendance
    • Mentorship pairing
    • Coordinating Study Abroad feature
    • HR Generalist duties
  • Partner with wider Talent Acquisition team and other stakeholders within the organization on tactical and strategic approach to entry-level recruitment and career development.
  • Oversee and manage network University Relations:
    • Effective and innovative partnering with key University and Career Offices to optimize candidate referrals at all levels
    • Participation in Graduate Recruitment Fairs; hosting internal Career Days
    • Scientific Writing Taskforce
  • Lead monthly Uber Grid calls between HR teams/Learning and Development Managers throughout our global network in order to help encourage knowledge sharing and drive collaboration on L&D practices.
  • Maintain and develop partnerships with training providers, and where appropriate and within financial considerations, source new training providers who can add a level of expertise or greater credibility depending on the learning aims or the audience.
  • Manage the publication and the multi-platform communications of network-wide training including the course catalog & maintaining the Havas Health & You Learning TEAMS channel.
  • Act as liaison to Havas University.
  • Undertake ad-hoc duties/ project work, on a permanent or temporary basis, as directed, that may sit outside of the key responsibilities detailed above.
Background/experience and skills
  • B.A./B.S. degree in communications, liberal arts, business or human resources.
  • 5+ years L&D practitioner experience across blended approaches to learning: classroom, eLearning, video, case studies, etc.
  • Experience with instructional design, current training production methods, and LMS platforms.
  • Genuine passion, energy and enthusiasm for helping people to develop and improve themselves.
  • Adept at proactively identifying opportunities to enhance our development offering. Able to effectively navigate a large network with multiple business lines.
  • A pragmatic, project management and problem-solver approach, with a proven ability to successfully execute against planned activities.
  • Experience of vendor management and commercial agreements.
  • Strong communication skills – ability to manage peers as well as managing up appropriately.
  • Ability to develop and maintain meaningful and trusted relationships with senior members of the agency.
  • HR Generalist experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience in advertising, media or communications preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
