Where you’ll work:
Our hybrid workplace model offers the freedom to work fully remote or occasionally in one of our offices. This is a remote position with a hybrid option for candidates based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

How you’ll contribute:
The Senior Business Procedures Consultant is a member of the Underwriting team, specifically supporting the life insurance application innovation and project management. This individual will support and coordinate the creation, development, and maintenance of life applications and system content for financial professionals and consumers. The Life Application Innovation Business Procedures Consultant II will oversee projects from conception through completion via collaboration with team members in Underwriting, IT, Product Compliance, Product Development, Distribution, Legal, Compliance, Marketing, and external vendors. The ideal candidate is required to deliver projects on-time and with accuracy. This individual will lead and motivate project team members that are not direct reports across multiple lines of business and functions as well as mentor lower-level staff. This role will also provide support to the Enterprise Operations New Business team for eApp and eDelivery.

In this role, you’ll get to:
  • Under minimal supervision, oversees large projects that span across multiple areas, functions, and/or lines of business to implement new and/or modified processes, procedures, and/or initiatives Translates business needs into requirements
  • Conducts complex research and analysis to quantify business opportunities and issues and develops formal recommendations for presentation to management Runs project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis. Document and maintain functional requirements
  • Oversees complex projects that include various phases and moderately sized project teams
  • Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports
  • Runs project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis
  • Designs, implements, and monitors the progress of initiatives, milestones, and budgets to ensure timeliness and deliverables are met
  • Develops, designs, and implements life applications and supplemental forms within applicable state regulations and guidelines for the acquisition of life new business, reinstatements, and underwritten policy change
  • Provides updates to business leadership regarding project status and the application and implementation of new or revised procedures, processes, and/or initiatives
  • Manages critical relationships with consultants and vendors, internal end users, and business customers/leadership
  • Provides information and/or training to end users to help resolve inquiries related to assigned processes, procedures, and/or initiatives
  • Leads and motivates project team members that are not direct reports that may span multiple functions/LOB’s and provides guidance to lower-level staff
  • Lead the creation and review of test cases supporting UAT coordination
  • Provides information to end users to help resolve problems regarding assigned system(s)
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required
We’re looking for people who have:
  • 5+ years of related work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Broad knowledge of supported business functions, processes/procedures, workflow, systems, and transactions
  • Ability to operate and manage across teams with minimal supervision especially vendor supporting testing activities
  • Broad knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Project management skills are required
  • Understanding and prior experience of software development and QA life cycle processes (including test planning, test case design, execution, defect tracking and reporting) required
  • Understanding of life insurance filing and compliance guidelines preferred
