What You'll Do

Process Innovation is a group that drives innovations to Samsung Semiconductor, USA and we are looking for a Solutions Architect to expedite our innovations. As our Solutions Architect you will work as a technical member of the team at a Senior Management level, partnering with Business Architects, Business Analysts, and business leaders. You are a hands on type who is experienced working with front-end (e.g. HTML, React or similar technologies), back-end (e.g. microservices, APIs, integrations), cloud technologies (AWS or equivalent), and key enterprise components (e.g. business applications, analytics). You will consistently survey the system landscape that supports business processes, identify and automate ways to collect and analyze data, conduct prototypes and service proposals involving frontend to backend systems, and identify functional gaps.

Location: This is a Hybrid role, working onsite at our San Hose headquarters at least 3 days per week with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time

Reports to: Director, Business Process

  • Serve in an advisory role in major architecture and design decisions for all new technology initiatives.
  • Evaluate application and architectural models and perform/drive in-depth analysis of systems, data flows processes, and KPIs/metrics about the current state
  • Develop understanding of business processes, data flows, strategy, and long term thinking to come up with an end-state architecture
  • Completely own the design and development phases for enterprise-wide applications corresponding to the business areas being supported, via either buy or build. Deliver on time, on-budget, with high quality.
  • Perform rapid prototyping or proof of concept using technologies or market solutions
  • Develop technology metrics and/or business data that will provide diagnostic view of current state and drive future state changes
  • Look ahead and learn the new domains to proactively scope system and technology landscape and prepare for the next business/technical challenge
  • Lead in the acquisition and development of key technology skills required in the target environment.
  • Learn and be curious about the constantly changing Samsung Semiconductor businesses and the competitive environment to help design new studies
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

  • Bachelors and 15 years of experience, or an MS/MBA and 13 years of experience, or a PhD and 10 years of experience preferred
  • Experience in collecting high-level requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and thrive in a constantly evolving business environment
  • 15+ years of design, implementation, consulting experience in applications, infrastructures, security, networking, and data & analytics
  • 5+ years of hands on experience of services oriented architecture, system scalability and reliability, enterprise application integration, operational support issues
