Top areas of focus:
- Strategic Thinking: Partner with benefits broker and senior leadership to evaluate benefits offerings, review renewal options and plan design changes while assessing effective contribution schemes as part of a total compensation philosophy.
- Partnering Effectively: Develops communication tools to enhance understanding of the company’s compensation and benefits package and wellness goals, provide employee training and support for all employees.
- External Market focus: Monitor the external benefits market and provide analysis of the impact on health and welfare plans. Participate in national compensation surveys to collect and analyze competitive salary information to determine company's competitive position in both the local and national marketplace.
- Delivering High Impact Results: Building, implementing and managing solutions that work with change management in mind. Develops long-range objectives regarding benefits programs in conjunction with HR Leadership team.
- Data and Analytics: Providing insights into benefits experience and utilization that drive critical investments in our employees.
Dipping into the Role:
- Leads the development of the overall strategy related to compensation and benefits including the design and delivery of employee benefit and incentive plans (including Salary, Short and Long-Term Incentives, Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, Disability, Employee Assistance, Worker’s Compensation and 401(k) Retirement Plan). Continuously works to automate, evaluate, and enhance third-party vendors and their systems and processes.
- Works with HR Business Partners and function leaders to develop customized compensation solutions, including incentive programs to support talent and business objectives.
- Manages employee on-boarding by guiding new hires through benefits enrollment (annually or during life events), along with ongoing leave management and overseeing benefits off-boarding through post-employment COBRA enrollment for terminated employees. Responsible for all open enrollment activities.
- Continuously review opportunities to improve our employee lifecycle processes and procedures to ensure efficient and seamless HR operations
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state government regulations and timelines as well as accuracy of required filings. Ensures accurate billing and reconciliation of all invoices, primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
- Evaluates opportunities to enhance or introduce improved ways of working through continuous improvement mindset
- Coordinates and may lead global projects, including total compensation statements, mergers and acquisitions, and HIPAA, as they relate to group benefits issues.
The Recipe for Success
You will bring:
- Minimum 5 years experience in Total Rewards specifically compensation and/or benefits
- Strong project, systems and vendor management experience
- Degree in Human Resources or directly related business experience
- Experience with change initiatives, process improvement and/or simplification initiatives
- Solid understanding of HR processes, data management and their impact on HR systems
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a deep ability to understand what motivates others
- Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize actions
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers’ compensation, Medicare, COBRA, PPACA, and Social Security and DOL requirements
- Experience with a diversified workforce including both hourly and salaried/exempt employees
- Experience with UltiPro or Workday a plus
