Senior Mechanical Engineer

Position Type/Hours:

Full-time position. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Position Profile:

This position is responsible for designing complex mechanical assemblies for custom web converting equipment and will be involved in multiple projects simultaneously, with projects at different stages, at any given time. In addition, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will provide mentorship to junior engineers.

Essential Functions:

• 
  Works in coordination with Design team while developing new assemblies or modifications of existing assemblies.
• Design mechanical parts and assemblies using Inventor 3D Cad & AutoCAD 2D; including assembly drawings and part detail drawings.
• Complete required documentation such as the Bill of Materials, including assignment of part and assembly numbers
• Collaborate across multiple internal functional departments and with internal/external customers and suppliers to develop partnerships, allowing rapid development and demonstrate new technology concepts and solutions.
• Converting production challenges into creative and inventive solutions by collaborating and leading brainstorms in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers to assist with the development of a strong engineering team.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5 to 7 years of relevant experience
• Competent in the use of 3D modeling and CAD software
• Familiar with AutoCAD 2D

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
