Job Summary
This candidate would support the ICANN's Open Data System by serving as a primary interface to the business users to assist the application development teams in understanding and implementing the business processes, workflows, and information requirements of constituents.
The Senior Product Manager will facilitate project delivery by ensuring proper requirement analysis with cross-functional groups, project stakeholders, other analysts, customers, or end users.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to interview, collect, analyze, and manage system and business user requirements.
- Document detailed functional and data business requirements, process flows, use cases, triggers, integration points and other information needs while identifying opportunities for refinement and business process automation.
- Translate business requirements into a technical solution, including prioritization/scoping of requirements and coordination with the team, program/project managers and sponsors.
- Conduct level of effort exercises (i.e., t-shirt sizing and story point assignment) and regularly assess product backlog of assigned systems.
- Write user stories, create test scenarios, and facilitate business UAT efforts.
- Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to clarify requirements that provide direction to developers/configurators.
- Participate in, contribute to, and conduct daily standup and sprint review meetings as part of ICANN’s Agile / Scrum process.
- Work closely with internal engineering, IT ops, QA team, and external vendors to guide product development and help deploy services to a production environment.
- Build and strengthen relationships internally between IT and the business partners.
- Other duties as assigned or requested.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Years of experience: Must have 5+ years of related work experience.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred, Study in Business, IT, or a related field desired.
- Product Management Certification (PMC) or equivalent.
Must Have:
- Ability to own, manage, and deliver a service or product; able to manage the entirety of the ICANN Product Lifecycle.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, vendors, and the ICANN community.
