PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Directs and supports the development and operations of all aquatics related programs and services provided by the branch location. Leads the daily operations of the Aquatics Department including pool maintenance; scheduling, supervising, and leading aquatics staff; developing and leading aquatics programs, and providing financial oversight of aquatics programs and budgets. Ensures the safety of the members, program participants, and patrons who utilize the YMCA of Honolulu aquatic facilities. Serves as a representative of the YMCA by providing quality aquatics programs, while meeting all standards and expectations. Ensures the strategic and tactical goals of the Association are met. Reports directly to the branch Executive Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:
Ensures that the strategic and tactical goals of the Association are met. Keeps in mind the Strategic Advantages of: YMCA Values, Community-Based Branches, Equity and Inclusion, and Multi-Generational service. Utilizes the association Strategy Screen in operational decision making. Understands the association Strategic Priorities including the Community Impact areas of Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Skills/Knowledge:
- Requires understanding of aquatics, group work process, program and
- staff development, skilled in general management and communications.
- Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Windows XP, and Power Point/LCD
- projector.
- Must be people oriented, possess strong management and supervisory
- skills, and be well organized and multi-tasked oriented.
- Should have knowledge of program fiscal management.
- Must have the ability to train and lead staff and volunteers.
- Requires strong knowledge of aquatics programming.
Education/Training:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification required. Lifeguard Certification required.
- Swim Lesson Instructor Certification required.
- TB clearance required.
- Valid driver’s license and clean traffic abstract required.
Experience:
- 5 years minimum experience in program planning and supervising of staff and volunteers.
- 5 years minimum experience working in aquatics or in related human service programs and/or activities.
- Must have experience in working with, training, and developing staff and volunteers.
- Must have experience in developing and creating programs.
- General office operations experience preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $47,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
