The Hire Mark is recruiting a Senior Property Accountant for a Property Management Company in Beverly Hills, CA.
This is a full-time, in-person role with competitive pay and benefits.
Pay Range 75k-90k, 10% bonus based on performance.
SENIOR PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT
ROLE DESCRIPTION: As Senior Property Accountant, you will play a crucial role at our client . You will be responsible for performing financial and administrative duties to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate financial reporting. As a successful Senior Property Accountant, you will demonstrate a professional and friendly personality, with an uncompromising desire to deliver an exceptional customer experience to our internal and external customers (Corporate Team Members, 3rd Party Managers/Entities, etc.). Your main mission at our client is to be a trusted partner.
REPORTS TO: CFO and Accounting Supervisor
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
1. Customer Service:
- Demonstrate outstanding phone and email etiquette.
- Take initiative to coach and train the team on accounting procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to the internal and external parties.
- Embrace teamwork and collaboration on all levels.
2. Property Accounting Operations:
- Prepare and analyze the financial statements, general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and budgets (monthly and yearly).
- Assist in managing the timeliness of Financial Statements, Bank Reconciliations, and all other monthly reporting/closing procedures.
- Reconcile, verify and validate all entries and postings to balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations for assigned portfolio.
- Review and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, and maintain a schedule of all balance sheet accounts.
- Reconcile vendor accounts and ensure payments are up to date.
- Prepare analysis of accounts, such as expense distribution, AP aging, check register, and other required reports during month-end.
- Support Job Cost module and prepare loan draws (CapEx Reserves, Required Repairs, etc).
- Review delinquency per assigned property and makes sure monthly write-offs are completed.
- Contribute to the development of accounting procedures and strategies to improve efforts, record keeping, and account management including exploring new tools and software.
- Review budget comparison for accuracy and performs reclass and accruals as needed.
- Assist with monthly budget variance analysis.
- Adhere to daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly deadline requirements.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Assist with annual budget preparations.
- Assist with accounting items related to buying and selling properties, as needed.
- Perform other duties as needed by the CFO and Accounting Supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance a plus.
- 57 years experience working in an accounting department preparing financials.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience in Yardi Voyager and/or other Major ERP preferred.
- Ability to process complex tasks with minimal instructions.
- Ability to multitask and have good organizational skills.
- Must possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with other staff members, property employees, and the Executive team.
- Strong analytical, problemsolving, and organizational skills.
- Able to adapt to changing priorities.
- Able to work independently and assist in leading the team.
