Summary: Our Voluntary Benefits (VB) Underwriting team is looking for a Senior Proposal Unit Assistant who will be responsible for providing proposals, rates and underwriting offers for prospective clients for all of our Voluntary Products. To be successful in this position, you should have strong time management skills, be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task in a busy environment.

Please note that this position will be hybrid which entails working in our corporate office Tuesday and Wednesday and working remotely the other days.

Responsibilities include:

• Independently completing all VB Proposals, Rates, and Underwriting Offers for sold cases in an assigned territory, as well as providing assistance to other team members for complex/non-standard requests.
• Receiving requests for proposals, setting up case files, scrubbing information received and then sending to Underwriting.
• Setting up case and products into Salesforce and updating status as needed.
• Creating hard copy binders for formal Request for Proposals/comparisons.
• Independent product analysis of competitor data against Trustmark Group or Worksite products to determine best benefit offerings
• Using rate workbooks and files created by Proposal Analyst, work with Case UW and field representative to create product specific plan designs, which are then sent to field representatives. Continue process until plan design and rates are approved.
• Coordinating proposals and/or underwriting offers ensuring deadlines are met.
• Reviewing processes, procedures and forms, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Other duties as needed/assigned.

Qualifications include:

• Must have at least 2 years of insurance experience.
• Voluntary insurance product knowledge a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of proposal and new/re-enrollment underwriting offer processes preferred.
• Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and Adobe Reader.
• Must be able to follow directions and work independently.
• Ability to update and support departmental reports.
