Job description
The Senior Purchasing Agent is responsible for assisting the Chief Purchasing Agent in managing contractor buy-out and purchasing process for the region.
Responsibilities:- Develop positive relationship with trade contractors and vendors/suppliers and maintain throughout the project
- Write (author) scopes of work
- Read and understand drawings and specifications
- Understand and have knowledge of trade jurisdictions (separation of work scopes)
- Manage and Utilize the Master Bidders List
- Prepare and process, contracts, purchase orders, consultant agreements
- Work with Risk Management Group to ensure compliance with CDI requirements

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4+ years relevant experience
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Negotiation/conflict resolution skills
- Proficient in public speaking and ability to lead large meetings with confidence
- Basic understanding of construction law, contract and risk management
- Basic understanding of insurance
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook
- Ability to read construction drawings and understand specifications
- Ability to prepare and interpret specifications, analyze bids, and prepare and maintain procurement records and reports
