Job Summary

NOTE: Average of 15-20 hours to a maximum of 29 hours per week.
Must be able to work with the public; this position involves extensive public contact. Candidate must be mature, with a professional attitude. Candidate will be delivering meals to homebound senior clients M-F, as well as, being utilized as a driver for fixed routes and medical pick up when necessary. The incumbent will drive a 21-passenger bus and/or van to transport senior and/or disabled residents to a variety of locations in and out of Douglas County. (Conducting pre-trip inspection of vehicle by conducting visual inspection; Driving/operating a bus, van or car on designated route or assigned schedule; observing driving rules and safely operating vehicle; providing assistance to passengers with disabilities or who otherwise require minimal assistance; reporting unusual circumstances to supervisor immediately; reporting immediately any signs of physical or mental deterioration; or any signs of physical abuse or neglect). Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs and have the ability to load and unload walkers from vehicle when necessary.
All programs and services of the department ensure compliance with requirements of the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) and the Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS). The position will perform any other duties as assigned.
Drug and alcohol testing is performed on a consistent basis.

Requirements:
Preferred: Class C CDL with passenger endorsement
High School Diploma/GED
One-year professional related work experience
Must have and maintain a valid United States Driver's License (Class C), a satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) and the ability and willingness to drive a county vehicle, which includes a 21-passenger bus (with CDL only), 12-15 passenger van or car
Minimum 21 years of age

Employment is contingent on passing a mandatory Physical/Drug Screen/Background Investigation and MVR.
Salary: $15.00 hourly, NO BENEFITS
