The Role

We are seeking a Service Manager to support a high-volume branch to amplify Smart Pool’s mission of elevating the pool care industry.

At Smart Pool Services, our Service Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance department of the branch. Their duties include assisting in hiring and training Pool and Repair Specialists. The Service Manager will coordinate the daily workflow and schedules of these Specialists, with ongoing evaluations of quality of work by interacting with our customers onsite or by phone.

The Day-to-Day

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Partner with Branch leader and Talent Acquisition to find and retain talent
• Train qualified new hires for entry-level roles and or department manager roles
• Oversee the day-to-day workflow of the branch
• Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive for the purposes of providing recommendations for promotion and salary adjustment as appropriate
• Handle discipline of employees in accordance with company policy

Other Responsibilities:

• Plans and coordinates tasks and activities of branch service specialists
• Oversees route schedules and fills in as needed when short staffed
• Performs repairs and maintenance
• Ensures applicable safety standards and regulations are followed in the field
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Exceptional sales, customer service, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong customer service aptitude
• Superb organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize tasks, delegating when appropriate.
• Skilled with analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Outstanding mechanical skills, with the ability to not only visually diagnose mechanical issues, but the knowledge of how to search service and repair manuals for answers
• Strong knowledge of swimming pool maintenance and repair
• Competent with computer diagnostic equipment and software
• Proficient use of Google Suite, as well as Microsoft products

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 5 years of related experience preferred

The Environment

• Ability to be on your feet in the field conducting ongoing safety and technical training, customer service and service delivery
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time
• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat
