JOB DESCRIPTION

Service Workers in the Sheriff's Department- Jail Housekeeping Division will perform custodial, housekeeping or building maintenance work in the Wayne County Jails. This position may act as a team leader to a small group of lower classified workers and inmate workers. This position will also assist sanitation inspections, clean up of extra linen, fold and stock inmate uniforms, assemble bed rolls, and transporting linens and laundry inside the jail.

A criminal background check will be performed prior to appointment and annually thereafter as well as a random drug screen. Candidates must receive Jail Security Clearance before being appointed to this position.



QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must have achieved a high school diploma or equivalent GED for hire. Submit proof of diploma, GED or higher level education with the application.
