  • Sunday - Thursday

Summary: Operate multiple fully and/or semi-automated machinery and equipment within department to meet or exceed performance expectations. Perform routine maintenance to keep the up-time to optimal amounts and to meet/exceed quality performance standards. Demonstrate team work and collaboration skills to work well with others. Utilize mechanical knowledge and abilities to maintain machinery and equipment assigned. Lead by example for others and help to find ways to improve process/procedures and train other Line Mechanic I’s. Demonstrate safe work practices and follow all Schwan Cosmetics, USA policies and procedures.

Reports To: Production Supervisor/Department Manager

Essential Responsibilities

  • Maintain the operation of the machine to maximize the up-time and to meet/exceed performance standard achieving quality and efficiency. Train other Line Mechanic I’s on fully and/or semi-automated machinery to achieve quality and efficiency. Add solvent and waxy base adjustment materials to compound as needed.
  • Schedule/ perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance (changing worn components, lubrication, cleaning, using safety guidelines such as lock-out/tag-out).
  • Perform set-up, adjustments, change-over, line clearance, and cleaning of fully and semi-automated machine(s). Assist with changeovers and maintenance activities on other machines in other working area as needed. Rotate to other equipment/machinery within department as needed.
  • Trouble-shoot problems using mechanical knowledge and skills. Make repairs and adjustments. Capable of changing process parameters to achieve desired product quality for each texture.
  • Engage in housekeeping, safety and continuous improvement projects.
  • Perform line operator duties including machine operation, administrative duties, material movement, quality in-process testing, and enter maintenance work orders in maintenance program. etc.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Industrial Maintenance Certificate, Mechatronics Technology Certificate or 3+ years of equivalent knowledge and demonstrated experience (including knowledge of servo motors, sensors, cylinder and fiber optic switches, mechanical, electrical, and pneumatics). Must be able to speak, read/comprehend, and write in English.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years and/or combined work experience in a production machine-driven related field.

Functional Competencies: Basic math, basic PC knowledge and experience, mechanical knowledge, machine operation, routine maintenance, cooperation, listening, collaboration, communication, decision making, team work.
