Position Summary:
Lead the Site Engineering and Maintenance Team which includes Capital Projects, Machine Shop, Maintenance Planner, Facilities, Electrical & Instrumentation and Contract Services. Ensure continuous operations for the facility and pilot plants, putting safety as a first priority, while adhering to all applicable laws/regulations and Nestlé requirements. Lead the team with a continuous improvement mindset, enabling performance improvement through coaching/developing of team members.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead capital project team for site capital project execution including planning and managing all approved capital projects
- Propose and control the site budget as well as the site’s capital investment plans and related capital expenditures
- Ensure facilities and equipment are kept in good working condition through preventative and reactive maintenance
- Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and industry codes
- Performance manage and develop each team member as a valued and critical resource and ensure efficient utilization of all staff
- Manage facility contract services including security, cleaning, catering, electricians, utility operators ensuring vendor performance is up to expectation, and negotiate contracts to optimize delivery and cost saving
- Coordinate operations of steam generating, ammonia, electrical power service, compressed gases, water, sewer, HVAC, process liquids, plant-wide lighting, buildings, grounds, and fire protection systems to provide uninterrupted service
- Monitor and manage plant energy costs and efficiency, research and implement projects and programs to continually reduce energy costs and improve utilization
- Maintain all pollution control devices
- Support pilot plant/facility innovation activities by providing fabrication and installation capabilities
- Drive a continuous improvement mindset, benchmark and implement best practices
- Oversee facility refurbishment and renovations
- Coordinate and monitor activities of contract suppliers
- Assure security of the facility
- Provide prompt response to requests and issues from all units served
Job Qualifications (Minimum Education, Experience, and Knowledge)
- Degree in Facilities Engineering or related engineering discipline and experience with facilities management
- Leadership managing teams a must
- Strong organization and multi-tasking skills - ability to balance and prioritize several projects simultaneously
- CAPEX budgeting and preparation experience
- In-depth knowledge of food processing plant and technology:
- Experience in maintenance and all facets of facility operation
- Work experience on industrial steam boilers, Ammonia Refrigeration systems and Process Safety Management (PSM) knowledge preferred
- Sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations
- Knowledge of principles and practices of project management, financial principles/practices, electrical and mechanical system, procurement and contracts
- Experience in project management, building and industrial processes
