Companion / Sitter

Horizon Healthcare Staffing is looking for Direct Support Professionals and Sitter Companions in Rochester, NY to assist a not for profit organization.

All shifts during the day and night available.

Direct Support Professional Responsibilities:

• Assist/monitor/teach individuals with the preparation of daytime activities; encourage good personal hygiene, and behavior appropriate in their home or apartment.
• Assist Direct Care Supervisor in the assessment of each individual(s) abilities, interests and need areas toward independent living.
• Assist Direct Care Supervisor in the development of each ISP. Staff behavior and interaction with individuals shall be directed towards the attainment of goals set forth within each ISP.
• Assist/monitor/teach individuals(s) in budgeting skills. Teach self-medication skills according to DMR regulations, and when appropriate supervise in medication administration
• 6 months of experience with the developmentally disabled at the minimum required for DSP work

Sitter Companions Responsibilities:

• Assisting with eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, and transferring patients.
• Provide one to one bedside companion care
• Walk with them, take them to scheduled activities
• No experience required!

Flexible schedule. You pick the days you wish to work! Days and overnights available! Working with the Developmentally Disabled population. Position is great for new grad healthcare professionals or individuals who are interested in healthcare. Looks great on your resume!
