Job Title: Slitter & Rewinder Machine Operator

Department: Production

Reports To: Supervisor

Prepared By: Plant Manager

Approved By: Quality Assurance Manager

Summary

Operates machine to slit rolls of paper and/or film tapes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Spaces blades (score or razor) on machine shaft, according to widths specified, secure blades in potion.

- Mounts roll of material on machine and properly threads machine to run through blades.

- Starts machine and observes flow of material through machine to detect irregular cutting and winding. Is responsible for continuous monitoring of material quality, watching for flagged and unflagged defects.

- Moves levers and dials to stop, start, and regulate speed of machine and to align material with blades.

- Disengages winding shaft and removes rolls material.

- Maintains a clean working environment at all times. Including cleaning the rollers and cutting blades whenever and as often as necessary to ensure good cut quality, sweeping floor in his/her area, returning unused materials to their proper storage area when no longer needed.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or previous slitting experience.

Language Skills

Must read and write English

Mathematical Skills

Basic math skills required, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Must be very familiar with both metric and English measuring systems.

Reasoning Ability

Must be able to make basic decisions based on established guidelines.

Physical Demands

Operators must be able to lift a minimum of 50LBS. Must be able to operate hoist in a safe and orderly manner.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour

• 12 hour shift
• 4x12

• Lakewood, NJ 08701: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

• Manufacturing: 3 years (Preferred)
