PEAK is looking for a highly motivated SMT Process Engineer for a Semiconductor client in Brisbane, CA. This candidate will develop manufacturing processes in SMT, through hole, ICT, conformal coating, potting, electronic assembly and inspection. Relevant experience in PCBA design review, failure analysis and corrective actions is also necessary. Proficiently program and debug the production of all NPI’ s through SMT, including prototypes. Oversee all process documentation. Responsible for creating re-flow profiles from customer “ profile” boards and then analysis. Responsible for first build analysis to quality on all new assembly part numbers that are processed through SMT.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelor' s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics. Minimum 6 years progressive experience electronics/electro-mechanical manufacturing.
Licensees, Certifications, etc.: IPC 610 or J-STD-001 training preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop standards for stencil apertures.
- Develop operation sequences and processes in the manufacturing of PCAs, which includes machine operations and programming.
- Responsible for continuous improvement through efficiency improvements, different tooling, improvement through internal/external defect analysis.
- Implement corrective action in the program, process or production of product.
- Creation of written procedures / visual aides for all PCA’ s.
- Develop and implement Corrective Actions to the SMT process, as required, to improve/assure product quality.
- Troubleshoot as necessary and escalate to appropriate internal or external resources.
- Write operating instructions and work instructions for x-ray and re-work.
- Maintain fixtures.
- Develop qualification procedures and processes for new equipment or suppliers that are to be introduced into mainstream manufacturing.
- Other duties as necessary to ensure meeting facility goals and objectives.
