POSITION SUMMARY
A SNAP Job Developer Works closely with the program manager and clients who have been referred by DHS to participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). The goal of the program is employment and the Snap Job Developer assist their clients in identifying personal goals, developing leadership skills and planning career moves. Daily duties may include helping customers apply for new employment opportunities, providing feedback on resumes or cover letters and strategizing for a successful job interview. They also hold workshops, network, and maintain relationship to actively promote career opportunities. Also, manage and develop program social media marketing sites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Manage and develop social media outlets for SNAP program.
§ Manage title development schedules, budgets, contracts, files, reports, risks, and project-team communication and collaboration for assigned projects.
§ Develop and maintain strong and supportive relationships with DHS SNAP Customers.
§ Manage editorial processes to optimize production for quality, predictability, time, and cost.
§ Conduct workshops and seminars for SNAP recipients on interview techniques, job readiness and assist with job training programs.
§ Evaluates individual’s background, skills and interest and matches to potential job openings or training programs.
§ Meet one on one, with program participants to assess specific needs, identify goals, and prepare action plans for achieving the goals.
§ Track and report outcomes and provide data updates on participants as directed.
§ Participate in onsite and off-site trainings and meetings, as needed.
§ Assist program manager with Job Development in obtaining new worksites for SNAP Recipients.
§ Screening for issues related to substance abuse, mental health, and domestic violence, and referrals for available services to address them.
Assumes other duties as assigned by management.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
§ Experience with Employment and training programs and participants, preferred.
§ Must have Experience in social media and Marketing Development.
§ Excellent Management Skills.
§ Demonstrates written and oral communication skills, ability to works as part of a team
§ Demonstrates strong skills in interviewing, engagement, assessment, planning and advocacy
§ Demonstrates good judgment and ability to work independently
§ Interviewing skills and knowledge of employment guidelines.
§ Knowledge of standard business practice and management.
§ Basic Computer skills, Microsoft word and Excel
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in related field of social services, human resources, or business equivalent with minimum three years of experience in working with the TANF Program and workforce development.
