Sylvan is looking for a highly driven and dedicated Social Media Marketing Coordinator to support our national and local organic social marketing efforts. You would be developing the strategy and execution of content calendar, assets and copy for our social media efforts.
The job responsibilities include:
- Dedicated daily monitoring, community management, and responding to national social media posts on all social media platforms. Requires all comments and messages, including comments on organic and paid social, are addressed within 24 hours.
- Owning the social media calendar, which includes planning, creating and executing the day-to-day seasonal content needs to support the business objectives across all national social media platforms.
- Write, edit and/or proof content and articles that are shared on all social media.
- Design most of the assets to support the social creative needs (adept with Canva, Adobe, etc).
- Load content and articles on our website (html experience a plus).
- Owning the internal communication of social media efforts, i.e., notifying our franchise community of what’s happening, what they should be doing and general social guidance.
- Weekly monitoring of social metrics, as well as creating testing plans to drive more engagement and deliver on KPIs.
- Assist our franchise locations with managing their local Facebook pages under our corporate structure.
- Support local franchisees and center staff with their organic social efforts by providing resources and guidance via phone calls/Zooms.
- Partner with the training team to build effective PowerPoints for webinars, writing “how-to” guides, creating “how-to” videos and other resources to deliver ongoing training throughout the year.
- Occasional travel to local Sylvan Learning Centers to capture and create content for our social media page
To be successful in this role, the Coordinator must:
- Understand and enjoy the behind the scenes work of owning engaging social media content.
- Keep up with trends of social media and make recommendations for how Sylvan should evolve over time.
- Enjoy being part of an integrated team. This role is integrated in many facets of the company, so communication with many parties is key.
- Consistently provide support to our franchise community, which includes answering general social media questions, as well as supporting them with social media account issues that might arise. Be able to respond to franchisee tickets in our tracking system in an efficient and timely manner (24-48 hours).
- Possess the ability to quickly understand existing systems and tools and the business outcomes we seek.
- Adapt to new systems and expanded responsibilities to meet our marketing goals.
- Have superior organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Be able to go from ideation to execution, which involves outlining objectives, creating timelines, project managing, communicating and final implementation.
- Be open to ongoing training and change that comes with the ever-evolving social media landscape.
- Completing other duties as assigned.
We require:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of general marketing experience, preferably content marketing experience.
- 2-3 years of experience in managing & executing multi-channel organic social media strategy for a company or brand on multiple channels including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Experience with TikTok and Instagram Reels is a plus!
- High-energy professional able to effectively manage multiple projects at once.
- Creative thinker and problem solver who can originate innovative strategies without a template.
- Strong team player that is able to motivate and lead other team members through strong influencing and persuasive skills to accomplish goals.
- Must demonstrate a high-level of accommodation and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment of constant change; able to perform well under pressure and deadlines.
- Proactively think outside the box and take the lead on projects.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbal and written, with all levels of the organization.
- Desire to consistently grow and develop your career.
- A willingness to learn, support the team and always do what is necessary to achieve objectives.
- Technical understanding or working knowledge of design software including Adobe Photoshop, Indesign and HTML a plus, but not required.
- Technical understanding or working knowledge of video editing apps or software also a plus.
