UR Medicine is looking for individuals to join the Strong Behavioral Health department as Social Workers.

The department of Social Work offers diverse career opportunities across multiple disciplines. We are hiring for BSW, MSW, LMSW, and LCSW level Social Workers with positions available in Adult, Pediatric and Emergency areas, in hospital and community-based settings. Our Social Workers aid patients in navigating the healthcare system, support care planning and connect patients to the resources they need to remain healthy after receiving care.

This will be achieved through

• Providing an array of preventive, clinical and care management services that enhance individual health status; patient, family, and provider satisfaction; expeditious flow of patients through the health care system; and cost management.
• Evaluating the psycho-social status of patients and family to determine specific needs for service.
• Providing brief or intensive assistance through counseling and direct services to the patient and patient's family.
• Referring patient and family to community resources to maintain continuity of service.

The desired candidate will have

• Master's degree from an accredited school of social work.
• Licensure as a social worker, as defined by the State Board for Social Work, State Education Department, Division of Professional Licensing Services is required.
• If licensure has not been obtained upon employment, the individual has 18 months within which to obtain it, unless duties will be performed under OMH in which case a minimum of a limited permit (not to exceed 1 year) or NYS Licensure will be required upon employment start.
