  • Managed a team of 8+ engineers

Job summary
Amazon Pharmacy is hiring software Dev Manager to help us revolutionize the pharmaceutical industry and we're looking for passionate individuals who can help us on that journey. This team specifically supports onboarding new drug manufacturers to provide the lowest prices for brand name medications that are often not covered by insurance. We're working to build services where manufacturers can self-manage their products & programs throughout their lifecycle by building an interface layer between Amazon Pharmacy and our partners. Key Responsibilities

Ideal candidate is a visionary leader, builder and operator. They will have experience leading multiple concurrent product development and/or engineering projects and initiatives. They are able to balance technical leadership with strong business judgment to make the right technology decisions. They will strive for simplicity and will demonstrate significant creativity. They bring a strong track-record of developing talent and raising the technical bar across the organization and various tech functions.

  • Responsible for the overall development life cycle of the solution to manage complex projects with significant bottom line impact.
  • Work with product managers and scientists in developing a strategy and road map to provide compelling capabilities for Healthcare products.

  • Work closely with senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development. Fully and completely understand system interdependencies and limitations. Possess expert knowledge in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices.
  • Instill best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules. Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions.

  • Project management - prioritization, planning of projects and features, Stakeholder management and tracking of external commitments
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions.

  • Operational Excellence - monitoring & operation of production services

  • Assist in the career development of others, actively mentoring individuals and the community on advanced technical issues and helping managers guide the career growth of their team members.
  • Exert technical influence over multiple teams, increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing your deep knowledge and experience.
