Software Engineer II

Position

The Software Engineer II is responsible for independently developing and assisting in the design of products that support our business. As a Software Engineer II, you will be part of a dynamic team with engineers of all experience levels who help each other build and grow technical and leadership skills while creating, deploying, and supporting production applications. In addition, Software Engineer IIs may be involved in configuration, security, resilience, performance tuning and production monitoring.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform software design responsibilities to meet specific performance requirements of internal applications
• Debug complex software implementations.
• Create and implement detailed software test plans to ensure software design meets the specifications and quality.
• Collaborate with other software engineers, technical project managers, business analysts and QA on project initiatives
• Work closely with senior staff on project implementation.
• Work closely with other engineering disciplines, manufacturing and the customer throughout the design and testing phases.
• Provide software support for new and released products to customers.
• Interface with management regarding software requirements and project status.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or extensive relevant experience.
• Minimum of two to four years relevant experience.
• Strong C# in Microsoft Visual Studio environment, along with object-oriented design, analysis and software debugging.
• Working knowledge of database design, SQL query language and strong database support and troubleshooting skills; including use of SSMS
• Experience working on a team using source control system such as Git; including requesting code reviews, working with local branches and following SDLC
• Strong troubleshooting skills and debugging skills.
• Ability to multi-task with minimal supervision while working independently or in a team environment.
• Strong written and verbal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Windows Server Operating System; including developing and debugging Windows Services and Console Tasks
• Software testing experience.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP
• UX/UI design experience, ASP.NET, MVVC, Blazor
• Experience using Microsoft SQL Server technologies; including the use of SSRS and SSIS
• Strong understanding of developing full-stack, cloud native applications and systems including microservice architecture

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to perform sedentary work, including sitting for extended periods of time.
• Ability to periodically stand, walk, crouch, stoop, bend, and reach across all planes.
• Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment for extended periods of time.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance, vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• May be required to lift and/or move objects up to 60 pounds, 0 - 10% of time.
