Lockheed Martin (LM) is looking for an ambitious Software Engineer to become a member of the Training, Logistics and Solutions (TLS) Engineering and Technology Team.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will:

• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle (design, development, and test)
• Leverage our software engineering processes and procedures while performing their respective software engineering and verification activities.
• Support risk assessments and risk mitigation plans, including balancing technical risks between systems
• Manage key aspects of the technical implementation of the program, by collaborating across a number of disciplines to ensure that technical parameters, interfaces, and assumptions are consistent across disciplines, and interfacing with stakeholders (e.g., engineering, technical staff, client) to ensure program goals are met
• Understand and adhere to program cost and schedule targets, make targeted modifications to existing software baselines as well as develop new components and subsystems as requirements dictate

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's level degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related technical field and 9 years of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency with at least one modern software language such as C++, C, C# and/or Java. (Preferably C++)
• Willingness to travel, if required.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance (requires US Citizenship).

Desired Skills:

• Software development in C++/C on a Linux and/or Windows operating system
• Strong understand and working knowledge of Object Oriented concepts
• Experience with any of the following: Flight Simulation, Weapons, Avionics, Electronic Warfare, Radar; Flight Dynamics
• Relevant experience with agile methodologies
• Use of Atlassian tool suite (JIRA/Confluence/Bitbucket)

Additional desired capabilities include:

• Ability to work with cross-functional teams (HW, SE, I&T)
• Docker, Ansible, GitLab, AWS, Kubernetes, Software Factory, Virtualization (VMWare)
