Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary: SEACORP is seeking a Software Tester to support The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, RI. The Software Tester will support the testing of U.S Navy acoustics systems, developed in a Linux, C++, Qt environment. Ideal candidates will have a working knowledge of software and test design, to ensure the capability to run tests and report results.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing software requirements and preparing test scenarios
  • Executing tests on software Graphical User Interface (GUI) and interfaces
  • Analyzing test results, errors or bugs, and usability
  • Preparing reports on all aspects related to the software testing carried out and reporting to the development team
  • Interacting with design/development team to understand product requirements

Desired Skills:

  • Up to date knowledge of Software Test Design and Testing methodologies
  • Working knowledge of test techniques and compatibility with various software programs
  • Working knowledge of software programming
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
  • Strong organizational skills and detailed oriented mindset

Please note that an Active Secret Security Clearance is required on the date of hire.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with a field of concentration in Computer Science is required.

Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of related experience required.

As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship

Travel: 10%

Clearance: Secret

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Standard Offices and Electronics Assembly & Testing Labs: Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting. In the Laboratory setting, significant use of small hand and electrical tools that require fine motor skills. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs., occasional twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling and squatting. Some potential exposure to fumes associated with soldering.
