Overview

We are seeking a talented Sourcing Associate. This role is responsible for supporting Procurement’s Commercial, Medical Affairs, and General & Administrative (G&A)/Professional Service (GMAC) category efforts. This individual’s primary focus is to oversee the procurement of consumable services and review basic contracts in this category.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing and project-specific support to the Category Manager(s)
  • Manage interactions with vendors at multiple levels, with focus on tactical and transactional activities
  • Review contracts and proposals, interacting with the Legal department if/when needed.
  • Support GMAC category team in supplier selection projects and contract negotiations.
  • Conduct data gathering and analytics in support of negotiations and category strategies.
  • Conduct market assessments, create and project manage sourcing events (e.g. Requests for Proposals), and analyze proposals to summarize responses including cost and pricing.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable in invoice resolution issues as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Finance Operations with Procure to Pay (P2P) issues and system infrastructure.
  • Additionally, this individual will support department goals and objectives by providing project support across the Procurement project pipeline

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Science, Business or related field required
  • 1 - 2 years procurement experience required (biotech or pharmaceutical industry preferred; knowledge of cGMP a plus) in procurement/strategic sourcing, operations, finance, supply chain or similar area.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP preferred.
  • Experience with eSourcing systems preferred
  • Interpersonal skills that support high level of interaction with internal customers and vendors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates strong decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Possesses organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
  • Strong work ethic and team player
  • Demonstrates high degree of professionalism
  • Ability to work sensitively with confidential information
