The College of Architecture, Art, and Planning at Cornell University (Cornell AAP) is home to nearly 1000 students, 120 faculty, and 65 staff members who come together from around the world to take up some of today's most urgent challenges and advance research, inquiry, and approaches to designing, making, and doing that build a more just and sustainable future.

This position serves as the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning's (AAP) lead space, event, and security coordinator (AAP). This position's primary responsibilities are as follows:


Space scheduling, review space requests and coordinate resources to meet the needs of the requester. Assist departments and Student Services in assigning courses to available spaces after they have been created and are ready for pre-booking.


Event coordination, including furniture setup and takedown, coordinate with IT Solutions on technology delivery and setup, access to spaces, ensuring events comply with state and federal regulations, and assisting with food delivery and catering.


Works with the Assistant Director and Director of Facilities to track how college spaces and other physical assets are used, assists with small projects by providing design and drafting assistance, and contributes to space planning efforts. Keeps the college's space in the university's Facility Inventory up to date.


Oversees the daily security of AAP spaces, including providing card and key access to its community as needed, implementing building hours and access levels as set by the Assistant Director, reviewing surveillance video as needed, and recommending security actions, such as the installation of additional cameras or card access hardware as needed.


Maintains a consistent service-oriented attitude when communicating and interacting with AAP faculty, staff, and students. Client feedback must be provided in a timely, accurate, and tactful manner.


Required Qualifications:

Trade/Vocational/Technical School and 2 to 4 years relevant experience or equivalent combination. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of people. Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects with tight deadlines in order to satisfy the occupants as well as the project coordinators.


Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong organization and customer service skills. Demonstrate effective listening skills. Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, and general fluency working within web-based applications.
