Special Events Staff - Tri County
Job description
Under the direction of the Sports & Youth Directors and in accordance with Association policies, Youth & Family Staff is responsible for providing implementation of Y Club, Family Nights, and Y Nights for the Tri County YMCA. This is a part-time position, 5 hours per week including evenings and weekends.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with developing and implementing high quality youth, teen, and family programs to meet the needs of the community.
- Assist with planning, implementing, and leading Y Club, a free program for youth ages 8-12 (Weekday Evenings).
- Assist with Family Nights, free family programming for all ages (Friday evenings & weekends)
- Assist with implementing Parents Night Outs (one Saturday evening per month).
- Assist with Special Events, such as: Birthday Parties, Open Houses, Halloween Family Event, and Christmas Family Event.
- Responsible for strict adherence to all YMCA of Greater Waukesha County policies and procedures related to safety and conduct annual review of those policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with members, participants and staff. Model relationship-building skills in all interactions. Respond to all member and community inquires and concerns in a timely manner.
- Compile program statistics. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in programs areas. Work with supervisor to establish new program activities in accordance with Association operating plan.
- Be a champion for overall membership goals, retention and satisfaction.
- Represent and articulate the Associations mission and program to the community and establish collaborations when appropriate.
- Evening & weekend hours are required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Sports & Youth Directors.
- Employees are held responsible for all duties of the job.
Individuals considered for this job must have a willingness to provide a fun and safe environment with a positive and outgoing attitude for all youth programs. Individuals in this job must be at least 16 years of age and have the following abilities: exercise mature judgment and sound decision making; relate to people in a positive, but firm manner; observant; safety conscious; react calmly and quickly in an emergency; effectively communicate information on YMCA programs to members and participants; lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and have full range of body movement.
