Special Needs Caregiver

Rhinelander, WI

Job description

Sometimes the smallest investment in the life of a child can have amazing rewards. This position allows people to invest in children, help them grow, and sometimes heal.

The kids we serve are in need of compassionate care for a wide variety of things such as autism, ADHD, anxiety, speech, and cognitive delay. Some of the kids are in foster care and just need a mentor or someone to help them through trauma. They thrive on things like mentorship, social involvement, coaching to overcome daily challenges, and positive attention. Additionally, your involvement offers the guardians of these children a break to recharge. It may not seem like much sometimes, but a small break can have huge positive emotional and psychological effects.

Care for the children happens both in their home and out in public. This is based on the needs of the child and the family. Every day is different. Every client is a new adventure. One day a caregiver might be staying in the home and working on education or playing a board game, the next the caregiver could be taking them to the park, lake, or even out to a movie. Playing a game, reading a story, or even being an ear to listen can change the lives of these children for the better.

We currently have part-time hours for Caregivers to work with a variety of children in Rhinelander, Crandon, and Three Lakes. The hours will be primarily after school and/or during weekends. The schedule is determined by the availability of the caregiver and the child. During holidays and summer vacation the available hours increases. Caregivers are able to work as much or as little as they choose within the available hours of the child. This job is perfect for college students.

We pay our Caregivers ABOVE MARKET WAGES.
