Overview:
The Specialist, Women’s Health, under the supervision of the Manager, Women’s Health, is responsible for quality monitoring, implementation and evaluation/improvement of Women’s Health services. The specialist will support the development of initiatives designed to exceed targets as defined by AltaMed Women’s Health strategic goals.

Initiatives will support the patient experience, clinical quality and financial sustainability, in addition to provider and staff engagement. Specialist will support standardization of Women’s Health services and workflows at the clinic level and will collaborate with key departments, such as regional clinic operations, Nursing, Quality, Patient Access and Patient Financial Services. The Specialist is responsible for the orientation and training of clinic-based Comprehensive Perinatal Health Workers (CPHW) and supports clinic leaders with the management and improvement of CPHW performance. The Specialist supports Women’s Health Manager with management of Women’s Health policies, procedures and process improvement projects.

Responsibilities:
1. Supports the integration of Women’s Health services across the continuum of care & ensures continuous improvement of all services, including but not limited to exceeding patient experience targets, effective and efficient workflows, achieving standardization of services.
2. Establishes effective relationships with frontline clinic staff to guide decision making at the clinic level; assists in implementation of best practices across AltaMed Women’s Health clinic sites.
3. Conducts root cause analysis to maximize productivity, minimize cost and exceed quality goals.
4. Assists in collecting, monitoring, and reporting of Women’s Health provider and CPHW quality chart reviews by clinic by month and provides quarterly analysis.
5. Implements orientations, training modules for CPHWs and other clinic staff on women’s health services, including CPSP, FamilyPACT, Title X, Every Woman Counts and billing practices to ensure compliance with company, health plan and state, federal programmatic requirements and achievement of strategic goals and initiatives.
6. Supports the development and monitoring of workflows and competency of all Women’s Health nursing staff, including CPHWs, in collaboration with Nursing.
7. Conducts routine site visits to review CPHW performance metrics and evaluate clinic processes and workflows. Provides feedback to clinic leadership and collaboratively coordinates improvement activities and ensures compliance with 90-day action plans to exceed operational goals.
8. Participates in hiring process for CPHWs and makes recommendations for onboarding, training and development and scheduling and coverage of CPHWs.
9. Participates in monthly clinic-specific Women’s Health meetings and mentors, coaches CPHWs and other Women’s Health clinic staff across all clinics.
10. Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
1. Graduation from an accredited LVN school required.
2. Current CA nursing license (LVN).
3. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in women’s health or closely related field required; OB/GYN clinical environment experience preferred.
4. Experience in conducting training for adult learners.
5. CPHW and Family Planning Health Worker certification required within 90 days of hire.
