OUTPATIENT PEDIATRIC SPEECH PATHOLOGIST DUTIES AND RESPO NSIBILITIES

CLINICAL SE RVICE (100%)

  • Independently maintains a clinicalcaseload in designated clinical area
  • Provides evidence based evaluation an d treatment to diverse, medically challenging patient populations
  • Provides quality service delivery techniques that facilitate optimum services to meet patient needs being sensitive to patient’s age, social, cultural, educational and vocational backgroun d
  • Completes required documentation acc urately and within the designated time frame which may include report wr iting, billing, and/ or professional education database
  • Works collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary t eam as well as withDepartment colleagues to promote best care of the patient
  • Participates in the peer review process
  • Participates in performance im provement initiatives within assigned work area under the supervision of Clinical Coordinator
  • Takes initiative to remain current in clinical practice through lectures, literature, an d other educational opportunities
  • Orga nizes daily schedule to prioritize responsibilities including the integr ation of meetings, responsibilities, or tasks into schedule without nega tive impact on patient care or productivity
  • Maintains confidentiality pertaining to patient care and all Depar tmental policies and procedures
  • Keeps Clinical Coordinator informed of activities, problems, and/or accomplish ments
  • Functions in a self-directed man ner and takes ownership to manage self and work including responsibility for actions and accountability for results
  • Maintains professional demeanor and is responsible for quality car e in all interactions
  • Responds promptl y to communication (e.g., e-mail, pages and phone messages)
  • Uses technology (e.g., computer skills) to meet jo b requirements
  • Maintains productivity standards
  • Completes clinical privilege s consistent with job responsibilities and personal development plan
  • Performs duties/ tasks/ assignments as di rected to support Department goals or needs
  • Meets all PEP expectations and follows all Department policies and procedures
  • Meets and adheres to ASHA, state licensure board and Department clinical practice guidelines
Required Qualifications: Outpatient Pediatric SLP, Ped iatric dysphagia experience, Pediatric AAC experience, F luent in Spanish
Education: Sp eech Pathology- Graduate of an accredited program in Speech Language Pat hology with a Master’s degree

Minimum Qualifications

Education
Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university program.
Experience
Previous medical setting experience preferred, although other relevant clinical experience considered.

-- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology issued by ASHA -- NC License in Speech Language Pathology issued by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists -- Temporary License in Speech Language Pathology issued by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists
