Job Description

U. S. Bank Finance Department’s Management Reporting Organization (MRO) group is seeking a detail oriented Financial Systems Business Analyst. In this role, you’ll support the Finance Division’s system integrations/conversions into Oracle-based regulatory reporting system.

This involves attending IT Project meetings and representing Finance as integrations are developed or modified, including analyzing and writing business requirements. Expectations for this role will be to support new integration IT Projects for the MRO group from the initial requirements phase through testing to production and ongoing maintenance.


This role will require an iterative approach to the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Responsibilities include querying information from a data warehouse, writing PL/SQL for data manipulation and performing other ad-hoc data mining, profiling, reconciling and financial analysis. As projects move into production, additional responsibilities include maintaining project documentation to serve as a resource for the rest of MRO when application/integration questions arise.


Specific duties include the following:

  • Research and analyze the financial data of the business line to determine best problem-solving approach

  • Working with programmers and reviewing their technical design documents

  • Data warehousing (Creating Oracle tables, loading, PL/SQL.)

  • Testing the data. A critical component of which includes reconciling data to General Ledger information.

  • Documenting test issues and re-testing until bugs are worked out and data reconciles.

  • Understanding and working with other members of MRO to refine the data and add other Managerial Reporting information, some of which includes Transfer Pricing, Basel/Economic Equity calculations, and data quality checks.

  • Participate in month-end close activities as needed.

  • Assist with conversion of MRO’s new ETL development platform tool, called FDMT

Location: Position is eligible for hybrid work in Minneapolis or Cincinnati. Hybrid schedules blend time spent in office and remote work based on business needs. If outside of those locations, the role would be remote.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, CIS, CS, Statistics, Math, Accounting, Finance or Economics, or equivalent work experience

  • Three or more years of related experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Experience in analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills along with an understanding of Financial and Business concepts.

  • Excellent communication skills-both written and oral.

  • Project management skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks on aggressive schedules.

  • Experience in Financial Systems technology.

  • Experience in SQL, SQL Loader, PL/SQL, and TOAD for Oracle.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft desktop tools such as Excel and Access

Salary range reflected is an estimate of base pay and is for the primary location. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $73,865.00 - $86,900.00 - $95,590.00
