Sr. Administrative Secretary, Center for Violence Prevention (Galveston)
Job description
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five years related experience.
Job Summary:
To provide advanced secretarial support for Center for Violence Prevention for effective and efficient business operations.
Job Duties:
- Assists in the preparation and maintenance of the departmental budgets and accounts.
- Assists in reviewing monthly transactions for CVP.
- Record, monitor, and produce statistical and financial reports.
- Provides supervision and direction for the office support staff.
- Schedules and organizes appointments, meetings, and agendas.
- Assists in planning CVP events.
- Composes and types highly technical or confidential material for CVP faculty.
- Acts as department liaison with other departments and agencies.
- Processes electronically all personnel and purchasing transactions following institutional policies and procedures.
- Processes electronically all contractors related to grant related and PI initiated projects.
- Performs timekeeper duties for CVP.
- Adheres to internal controls established for department.
- Performs related duties as required.
Preferred Skill/Competency:
- Proficient in typing and spelling.
- Knowledge of Financial Management Systems, preferred
Salary Range:
Actual salary commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm and as needed on occasion.
