Assemble and rebuild electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies with high efficiency, reliability and durability. Provide advanced-level technical support to other staff and departments

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Production-level assembly of instrument-level electromechanical assemblies, including assembly, quality verification, and functional test
  • Detailed work on electronic assembly, including some component soldering
  • Repair or rework electrical or electro-mechanical components following standard processes and procedures verification
  • Inspect and/or test components to ensure quality
  • Follow strict ESD protection procedures
  • Develop and implement improvements to assembly and repair procedures
  • Assist in training and development of other staff
  • Maintain the work area and tools in an organized, professional manner

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily in air-conditioned environment. Some work in heated (non-air conditioned) warehouse areas.
  • Normal working hours 7:00 - 3:30 Monday-Friday. Some weekday and weekend overtime may be required. In rare instances, the position may require working split shift or second shift.
  • Occasional (rare) travel may be required, including possible overseas travel
Requirements:

  • Work independently under limited supervision
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, drawings
  • Ability to use and read standard measurement equipment for volts, amps, ohms, pressure, temperature, flow, etc.
  • Ability to use, at a basic level, office productivity software (e.g. MS Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Must be able to communicate clearly verbally and in writing with fellow technicians, engineers and managers

Qualifications:

  • 7 years experience in a technical position working with electronic and/or electromechanical assemblies
  • Associates degree in a technical field is strongly preferred
  • Equivalent demonstrated experience, skills and performance may be considered as an alternative to the above two qualifications
  • Ability to use common hand tools
  • Ability to use office productivity tools, including MS Office software and ERP programs (e.g., NetSuite)
  • Ability to pass a substance abuse screening test and background investigation
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics is a plus
