Sr. Cloud Engineer - Observability 14660 (H)
A leading tech company is seeking a Sr. Cloud Engineer - Observability. The successful candidate will lead highly-available and fault-tolerant enterprise and web-scale software deployments. The ideal candidate has a strong track record of implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing environments (Architect, Design, and implementation experience not working under the supervision of a senior engineer/architect). Sr. Cloud Engineer - Observability Pay and Benefits:
- Hourly pay: $75/hr
- Worksite: Leading technology and data solutions company (Dallas, TX 75254, Open to remote, Candidates located in Dallas are preferred, Will travel to the office and the customer sites, Travel to client offices required)
- W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life
- 40 hours/week, 12 Month Assignment
Sr. Cloud Engineer - Observability Responsibilities:
- Lead highly-available and fault-tolerant enterprise and web-scale software deployments.
- Participate in code release and production deployment, and have an aggressive approach to fixing bugs and defects.
Sr. Cloud Engineer - Observability Qualifications:
- 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree on Computer science/Engineering, Mathematics, and Electronics (At least).
- Experience in developing Frontend/WebUI is an advantage (Not a mandatory skill).
- AWS Infrastructure services (EC2, ELB, RDS, Route53, S3, vpc, vpn, tgw, cloudwatch, cloudtrail, eventbridge, etc.) .
- Design/Implementation experience in Observability stack (SPLUNK/ELK/Prometheus/Grafana, etc).
- Strong track record of implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing environments (Architect, Design, and implementation experience not working under the supervision of a senior engineer/architect on rudimentary tasks (develop <something>).
- Large-scale migration experience Data Center to Data Center and/or Data Center to Cloud Infrastructure automation through DevOps scripting (E.g. shell, Python, Ruby, Powershell).
- Hands on experience in terraform.
- Strong practical Linux / Windows-based systems administration skills in a Cloud or Virtualized environment.
- Experience managing data center operations, including data assurance, monitoring, alerting, and notifications.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
- Experience in data/log aggregation/visualization and tools/software/mechanisms used for that (Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, cloudwatch, cloudtrail, Kinesis, event bridge, etc.).
- Can work autonomously, and deliver code with minimal supervision from a set of requirements.
- Excellent communication skills to work as a member of a team.
- Ability to function in an agile-based environment and provide good daily feedback on team stand-up call.
- Knowledge of Git/Jenkins and standard development and CI/CD process and workflow.
- Good communication skills – verbal / written.
- Configuration management using Chef & Puppet.
- Knowledge of using Kubernetes/Openshift is an advantage.
- Familiar with Backstage.io is an added advantage.
- Work well within a team, self-starter, good work ethics, awareness of basic security standards, problem-solving, critical thinking, and leadership.
