The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) is looking for a Business Intelligence Manager to work full time on our Business Intelligence unit that drives research, analytics, and insights across our consumer and economic focus areas. Objective
High visibility role for an inventive, innovative collaborator to summarize our data to lead consumer and economic trends in the recreational boating industry. This individual will manage multiple technical and analytical project streams. They will also be responsible for analyzing consumer and economic metrics and crafting that into a compelling narrative to advise our internal and external stakeholders.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead program management and process improvement for consumer and economic data collection.
  • Lead business insights across the marketing mix and translate into technical requirements that are impactful for data engineers, analysts, and dashboard designers.
  • Synthesize multiple datasets to provide content for monthly, quarterly, annual reports and work across teams in the production of those reports.

  • Maintain and design surveys to fulfill primary research needs.
  • Lead external partner and vendor relationships to meet department goals.
  • Maintain billing in Concur when needed

Position Requirements/Credentials:

  • Bachelors in data science, Economics, Analytics or meaningful work experience in Business Intelligence, Consumer Research, Economics or Analysis and related fields.
  • Project Management and proven ability in a customer-facing project management role. Experience with data warehousing projects a plus.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, both qualitative and quantitative, with ability to structure analysis, synthesize and interpret business data
  • Knowledge of relational databases and designs
  • Deep understanding of financial statements
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to tell a story on a page
  • Ability to see the big picture and be in the weeds at the same time
  • High attention to detail to create executive level materials
  • Ability to work under tight timelines and act with a sense of urgency to challenging work and deadlines; always delivering on commitment
  • Proactive, multi-tasking self-starter; consistently driven by highest standards of quality and passionate about delivering value to the team and the Company
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt and go with the flow.
  • Strong relationship building skills and able to collaborate at all levels
  • Sophisticated technical understanding of analytical tools and techniques and demonstrated skills in uncovering insights to drive business impact (i.e., Python, PowerBI, Survey Design, Survey Monkey, API).
  • Knowledge of SQL Databases and query creation.
  • Eye for business and practiced ability to communicate information clearly and persuasively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on remote teams.
  • Have a high-level understanding of consumer spend and economic trends.
  • Prior management experience is a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a business or data analyst.

Position Details

  • Lead the flow of deliverables between data providers, BI team members, Advocacy, Show Teams and Marketing and Communication team members.
  • Financial analyses and modeling skills
  • Versatility to communicate and present to all levels of management.
  • Set landmarks, test platform development, direct data transformations and define data visualizations.
  • Be responsible for the analysis and reporting in consumer and economic trends across the US and Canada.
  • Connect with industry business leaders to solve program-related questions.
  • Design survey sample frames, questions, and set targets to ensure representative sampling and impactful results.
  • Provide consultation and recommendation to address users business intelligence needs.
