How you will make an impact?

The Senior Finance Manager leads the financial planning and analysis activities, as well as Accounting for Latin America Clinical Trials Division. This team member will work with the Latin America leadership to develop and implement strategies to drive double digit growth. The role will require accounting, planning, analyzing, forecasting, budgeting, and business intelligence activities in support of the Business Unit’s goals.

What will you do?

• Lead and drive strong accounting in the region
• Responsible for ownership of P&L and Balance Sheet
• Strong Business partner to the Latin America team and be an active member of the Americas Finance Leadership team
• Support the BU leadership team to set and deliver the annual, and quarterly business goals
• Lead the core operating mechanisms, including Plan, Monthly Business Reporting, and forecasts in collaboration with the leadership team and division counterparts
• Drive and support improvement projects in areas such as profitability and business intelligence
• Build business cases/ financial models for strategic investments and calculate Return on Investment to support the investment request from the business
• Set example for continuous operational improvement and drive efficiency across the business and functions
• Identify improvement opportunities to automate, enhance and build analysis.
• Lead, hire, and develop finance team embodying Thermo Fisher's continual growth mindset

How you will get here

Education

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
• Bilingual Spanish required

Experience

• Requires a minimum of 5 + years of increasing business and finance experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Financial savvy, including deep familiarity with concepts of forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis, as well as in root cause data interpretation
• Excellent skills with Excel, Hyperion Planning and Power BI
• Preferred Bilingual Spanish
• Ability to handle large sets of data, creating accurate reports with responsibility for the quality and integrity of deliverables
• Highly analytical with strong business sense
• Organized multitasker: workload prioritization, enable to meet timelines while achieving results, especially in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Effective spoken and written communication skills are required to collaborate with various partners
• Self-motivated, higher level of flexibility and strong work ethic with the goal to get the job done
• Intensity for accuracy and attention to detail
• Continuous Improvement approach: Identify process and control gaps and champion improvement initiatives through PPI
