SEPC is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, Sr. Mechanical Engineer in HVAC, Building Systems Design Engineering. The engineer should have the ability to design projects, conforming to Construction Codes in the States of NY and NJ. We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, driven, diligent and hardworking Sr. Mechanical Engineer, to design building mechanical systems, working from our office located in Pine Brook, NJ. Qualifications and Job description are as follows.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Assume leader’s role for project mechanical system design. Coordinate, assist or participate as project team leader for mechanical design and other tasks.
• Conceptualize initial design for existing or new buildings and develop comprehensive mechanical system scope & design.
• Supervise and/or prepare complete mechanical designs for building systems, HVAC, including preparing reports, calculations, sizing, layouts, drawings, specifications, and other documents
• Guide, mentor and develop junior engineers on project team.
• Assist in internal review, quality, building construction code analysis and develop design criteria
• Attend meetings with clients and others for review, construction phase and as required
• Supervise and/or conduct field meetings, construction meetings, condition surveys and prepare engineering documents as required
• Coordinate with architects, other engineering disciplines, contractors, clients, and others
• Provide follow-up and engineering supervision during project construction phase
• Contribute to development of office standards, policies, and procedures
• Adhere to established project goals and objectives including schedule and budget

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Master’s Degree is preferred.
• 6-years or more HVAC, building mechanical systems design experience, preparing drawings & specs for HVAC systems for large commercial, institutional, and residential projects
• Strong Technical knowledge of simple and complex HVAC systems
• AutoCAD proficiency and REVIT experience
• Experience in engineering services during project construction
• Knowledge of NY and NJ Building Construction Codes, Standards and applications
• P.E., LEED AP Preferred
• Must have approved/accepted work authorization
