Salary Range: $80,000 - 90,000

POSITION SUMMARY
Key role that will own the whole non-seed procurement process, including but not limited to the supply/material sourcing of all operational departments, selecting the correct suppliers that will supply best quality at best price and terms, regular reviews to ensure the feasibility, market analysis, etc. aimed at improving company cash-flow with adequate payment/contract terms and exploring potential savings though strong vendor selection & vendor negotiation
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans and coordinates supplier qualification process, development, and execution of request for proposal (RFP) or request for quotation (RFQ), bid analysis, supplier selection, contract development, and negotiation. Prepares and assigns purchase orders and change notices to purchasing agents.
- Researches and analyzes competitive market and interviews vendors, searching for the best price along with availability and quality of materials, equipment, property, or services that the company needs to function.
- Coordinates the activities of buyers and support staff engaged in purchasing across our operational sites in the US, engaged in purchasing; manufacturing supplies, non-seed raw material, services, car lease program, travel, utilities, equipment and/or other assets
- Builds relationships with external vendors.
Overview
- Identifies and evaluates current and anticipated company requirements, conferring with requesting department.
- Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material or service availability and prepares market analysis reports.
- Prepares and sends RFQs or RFPs to select vendors.
- Reviews and evaluates bid quotations or proposals, using cost and price analysis techniques and checking that predetermined criteria has been met.
- Determines short list of providers, presents list to requesting manager/department if necessary, and assists in selecting a provider.
- Participates in contract negotiations and vendor selection.
- Negotiates and drafts contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
- Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.
- Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility.
- Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Implements purchase contracts, following applicable company and government regulations.
- Coordinates the delivery of goods or services.
- Follows up with requesting manager or department to ensure the goods or services are of the quality expected, and notes whether the vendor should be used again.
- Establishes purchasing policies and procedures and directs purchasing programs accordingly.
- Establishes procedures to accomplish procurement of a variety of materials in a cost-effective manner.
Budgeting
- Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
- Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability based on annual procurement budget.
- Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives.
- Evaluates areas of opportunity to leverage material/service acquisitions.
- Recommends major purchases of materials on the basis of anticipated changes in prices or on unusual availability situations.
- Reports, tracks, and ensure contracted savings.
Review, Control, Reporting
- Keeps informed of economic, industrial and other trends that affect markets, prices, and delivery conditions.
- Reviews and monitors requisitions, supply sources, supplies, quotations, terms, etc.
- Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
- Monitors the performance and capabilities of vendors to ensure maintenance of delivery, quality, and price commitments.
- Prepares market analysis reports.

Procurement/Sourcing Systems
May collaborate with IT and other internal resources to develop, implement, automate, integrate and improve enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Ensuring the compliance and adherence to all company policies and ethical standards.
Technical Skills - Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access). JD Edwards One World, Oracle, or other ERP systems experience a plus. English language Fluency required; Spanish or French language fluency a plus. Ability to generate new, creative approaches to problems, or original modifications/innovations to established approaches.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience with procurement
