Overview

:

POSITION SUMMARY: Coordinate and manage activities related to implementing and maintaining data interfaces with hospitals and other health systems. Communicate file format specifications and lead review sessions with internal and external stakeholders. Compare files of different formats (CSV, XML, JSON, HL7) to predefined specifications and relay results to stakeholders. Monitor interface activity and report issues as necessary and conduct appropriate follow-ups.

For Senior Position: As a senior member of the team, the Sr. TDA will also support other TDAs on the team, as well as train junior team members on day to day activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):

Data analysis
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of USAP clinical, scheduling, and demographic data requirements
  • Provide thorough interface implementation specifications to the USAP development team
  • Maintain interface-related meta data
  • Analyze incoming, stored, and exported data for data quality issues
  • Analyze feed meta data for data incompleteness
Interface Tier 2 Support: When issues identified by Tier 1 support being escalated,
  • Conduct thorough gap analyses of data files based on specifications and provide solution for resolving issue
  • Act as the owner of the issue and coordinate resolution/escalation with facility contacts as necessary
  • Communicate and collaborate with Business Analysts/Product Owner regarding issue status and resolution.
Continuous Improvement
  • Work with leadership to improve the quality of data received from facilities as USAP business requirements and challenges change

Qualifications

:
JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to analyze computer-readable file formats, such as HL7, XML, and JSON
  • Experience working with data using TSQL or other data exploration tool
  • Strong troubleshooting ability
  • Extremely detail oriented, able to analyze large volumes of data
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Self-motivating, team oriented, result focused
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management Information Systems, IT or related filed. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education
  • 5+ (senior position: 7+ years) years experience in healthcare as a data analyst or technical liaison, preferably at a hospital system or ambulatory surgery center
  • Experience with Cerner and/or Epic
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching
  • Must possess sufficient eye-hand coordination/manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment
  • Required normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports and evaluations
