Our client is searching for a Staff Accountant to join their operations in Lafayette, LA 70505. A resume is required for consideration.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain overall productivity and efficiency of the accounting function for all assigned companies. Ensure all payables, credit memos & invoices are posted timely and accurately. Review and reconcile general ledger and make necessary adjusting journal entries monthly by following company’s monthly closing procedures. Maintain records of fixed assets and corresponding liabilities.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Coordinates with Senior Project Accountant to ensure monthly invoicing deadlines are met and recorded
- Reviews purchase order logs to reconcile against accounting records
- Reconciles bills against open purchase orders in ERP
- Corresponds with client companies and answers inquiries and requests as necessary
- Research miscellaneous bills for accuracy and legitimacy
- Reconciles general ledger accounts
- Reviews and reconciles inter-company general ledger accounts
- Reviews posted job costs for accuracy
- Responsible for month end close checklist for assigned companies
- Identifies inefficiencies in accounting procedures makes suggestions for improvement
- Prepares necessary financial reports and analyses at the individual company level as determined by management
- Journal entries for weekly payroll and month end general ledger adjustments
Minimum Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience
- Accounting degree
- Viewpoint ERP experience, a plus
- Working knowledge of Office 365 suite
