Job description
CPA firm in North Fayetteville needing to fill a staff accountant position. Applicants should be well-versed in income tax compliance, QuickBooks, and financial statement preparation, with a focus on small to medium sized businesses and wealthy individuals. Additional preference given to individuals with CPA certification and advanced tax return experience. Must be comfortable preparing, reviewing, and correcting client financial information, capable of independent income tax research, and be an effective communicator. Position involves significant client interaction and demands the interpersonal skills that go with that interaction.
Salary competitive and commensurate with experience. Benefits include health insurance, 401k retirement plan, PTO, and paid holidays.
Duties & Responsibilities
Daily client communication that is professional and timely.
QuickBooks cleanup and recurring monthly bookkeeping.
Balance sheet and account reconciliations.
Review and clean up of general ledger.
Preparation and review of financial statements.
Special projects as requested.
Prepare tax returns (1120, 1120S, 1065, 1140)
Develop tax planning strategies for clients.
Work on IRS and state tax authorities’ correspondence.
Manage own workload by monitoring project/return deadlines, with sufficiently frequent contact with involved Team members in assessing project/return status, budget and problems encountered.
Participate in communications with clients on tax return information, due dates, deadlines, and other compliance matters and keep involved Team members informed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Licensed Arkansas CPA or actively pursuing CPA certification preferred
- Previous public accounting and income tax experience
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment with professionals of all levels.
- Must be very detail oriented, organized, and be able to manage a heavy workload.
