Pioneer Medical Center is essentially, the county hospital for Sweet Grass County, Montana: Population 3700. We are in a beautiful valley along the Yellowstone River, between three mountain ranges, just north of Yellowstone National Park. We serve our neighbors (ranchers, skilled trades people and active retirees) and the many tourists who come here on their way to Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks, or to fish the Yellowstone, hike, bike, hunt or just get away from overcrowded places. Provides education and evaluation to all staff of Pioneer Medical Center within a specialized area of nursing. Collaborates with medical practitioners to incorporate nursing processes.

Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental, and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance.

Provides educational leadership to staff to enhance specialized patient care within established healthcare setting.

Assists staff with educational needs, problem resolution, and health management across the continuum of care.

Collaborates with medical providers, patient care staff, and unit management in the planning, implementation, and delivery of educational curricula.

Initiates skills development programs within the parameters of established care models; monitors trends and implements educational strategies to ensure compliance with quality standards and parameters.

Educates technical and patient care staff in the use of new equipment, supplies, and instruments; coordinates in-service training and workshops for appropriate staff.

Serve as a mentor to nurses, ambulance staff and identify growth opportunities and educational needs for practicing nurses

Promote critical thinking among staff, and show commitment to professional development and lifelong learning

Maintain current knowledge of trends in area of expertise

Implement and enforce annual staff training through LMS

Provide education at monthly nursing and EMS staff meetings.

Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental, and outside agency safety standards as it relates to the environment, employee, and patient/resident safety.

Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development.

Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Registered Nurse license required.
• Must possess current valid Montana license as a Registered Nurse
• 3-5 years’ experience working as a registered nurse in a clinical setting.
• Previous experience in a teaching setting preferred.
• Must possess valid basic life support (BLS) certification, Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Pediatric Life Support (PALS) or willing to obtain.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered
