Staff Development Coordinator Registered Nurse (RN)

LaurelWood Care Center is currently seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a full time, Monday-Friday, daylight position with a background in education and training for a Staff Development Coordinator role. This position will also teach the CNA training course and Train-the-Trainer in this is preferred.

Daily responsibilities of the Staff Development Coordinator Registered Nurse (RN) will include:

• Responsible for the orientation of newly hired nursing personnel to the facility
• Providing in-services and training for all appropriate personnel
• Coordinate and keep records of in-services and training that meet Federal, State, Local regulations and requirements
• Responsible for nursing department Performance Improvement activities and presenting PI data at quarterly meetings
• Timely completion of assigned competencies to ensure proficiency in skill sets necessary to assure resident safety, and to attain or maintain the highest practicable physician, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident
• Facilitating new hire orientation
• Facility Certified Nursing Assistant training courses- varying time of day for sessions as needed
• Facilitate First Aid and CPR classes for all required personnel
• Function as Nursing Supervisor as assigned
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Previous nursing supervisory and/or training experience preferred. State Certified Nurse Aide Trainer certification preferred. Vaccination from COVID-19 is a condition for hiring except where a bona fide religious or medical exemption is submitted. All applicants must have a current state-approved RN license plus at least one year of experience in long term care and management. A strong knowledge of nursing principles and understanding of long term care regulations.
